How to Clean Up WordPress Malware

It was about the end of the year 2008 when one of my clients reported the dreaded message “ This site may be hacked ” in the search snippets for one of her sites. A quick visit to  Google Search Console  confirmed that this wasn’t done in error. The client had verified everything (to the extent she could verify things) and had submitted a  reconsideration request  to Google. It was declined. The security team mailed her asking for more information and put the ticket into pending. It had been hours and she wanted professional intervention.
